Consideration of two appointments to the Justice Advisory Council. Applications for consideration were received from James Hunt Johnson for the local defense attorney representative and Dr. Jim Ryan as the psychiatrist.

The board will consider amending the personal health fee schedule to include fee for the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine. Fees will be effective immediately upon approval.

Approval of a resolution donating one surplus vehicle from the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office to the Alamance Community (ACC) Law Enforcement program and one surplus vehicle to the Town of Green Level.

The board will consider a request to apply for and budget, if awarded, $24,500 NEHS/FDA Retail Food Program Standards Grant Funding. This would be a 100% reimbursement grant with no local match required.

Consideration of 3 appointments to the Tourism Development Authority: two representatives of the “hotel/motel industry” and one representative of the “tourism-related industry”. Applications for consideration were received from Tammy Cobb, Tony Laws, Steven Krans, Erin Nettles, Kavita Patel, Danielle Claudio, Chuck Marsh, and Stephanie Williams.

1) The Board will consider and approve a resolution to authorize the issuance of bonds and the Finance Officer is hereby authorized to determine and approve any details necessary in connection with the sale of the Bonds, including without limitation, the principal amount of the Bonds, interest rates, redemption provisions, and maturity years and amounts. Such details shall be reflected in the Bond certificates.  It is the intent of the Board of Commissioners that the net proceeds derived from the sale of the Bonds (representing the principal amount of the Bonds, plus net original issue premium and any rounding amounts) shall equal the amount necessary to pay $15,840,000 of project costs, together with the underwriter’s discount and other costs of issuance. These bonds will finance the Public Safety Training Center construction and the Main, Powell and Gee building renovation projects for Alamance Community College.


2) Allocate and approve a budget transfer of $3,459,857 from the ACC Capital Reserves Fund to the ACC Capital Projects Fund for the balance of the project

This item seeks permission to acquire property at 106-108-110 South Maple Street in Graham for additional office space for Alamance County Government.

Authorize the County Manager to enter into a contract with Schrader Group Architecture, LLC for the architectural services associated with the design of the Alamance County Emergency Operations and Communication Center located at 780 Plantation Drive, Burlington, NC  27215.  The cost for services to be performed under this agreement is expected to total $417,097.00 and will be paid from state grant funds designated for an emergency services building.
